New Medical Building
Our hospital held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new medical building on June 29, 2022. The event was hosted by Lieutenant General Li, the then commander of the combat zone and invited the deputy mayor of Taichung City, Taiping District legislators, local councilors, representatives of the people, the city government’s health bureau, Gangzhou Construction and other related units and medical colleagues to witness it together. The new medical building integrates the intelligent medical system and existing medical resources, strengthens the energy and quality of emergency and critical care, shortens the medical gap in the sub region, provides more advanced medical services, an advanced and perfect medical environment for military and civilian use in the central region.
The new medical building of our hospital is part of the “Xiangyi Project” promoted by the Ministry of National Defense, which aims to build modern “military medicine” to improve the medical standards for acute, serious, difficult and cancer cases. The project is to be implemented by “Gangzhou Construction Co., Ltd”. and is scheduled to be completed and inaugurate in 114. In addition to effectively integrating the configuration of medical workspaces, it will also drive the investment in high-end medical equipment, the improvement of professional medical manpower, the upgrading of medical technology, thereby improving the solid and comprehensive medical care system of the national army.
The then-director, Major General, HONG, GONG-CHENG, pointed out that our hospital has been in its current location for more than 40 years since 69. In order to build a modern medical and friendly medical environment, we planned to build a medical building with 9 floors above ground, 1 floor underground in accordance with the guidance of the Military Medical Bureau to build a new generation of smart hospitals. The total floor area is 34,884 square meters. It combines the concept of holistic medical care with the intelligent energy-saving architecture of green buildings. It has 302 acute general beds and 181 special beds, with a total of 706 beds in the hospital.
The new medical building is equipped with four major centers: “Cardiovascular Medicine”, “Preventive Medicine”, “Cancer Treatment and Care” and “Emergency and Critical Care Medicine”. The introduction of advanced equipment in the operating room can improve the comprehensive medical services of “emergency, examination, treatment and hospitalization”, fully reflecting the core values of our hospital of “empathy, teamwork, professionalism and innovation”. In the future, we will focus on the dual-track model of “cultivating high-end military medical talents” and “investing in advanced medical equipment”, continue to innovate and develop, drive medical and health technology, and develop towards the goal of “severe emergency responsibility hospital”. Hoped the Medical Center to provide high-quality services, appropriate care, advanced medical technology to ensure the continued combat effectiveness of the troops, the health and well-being of the military and civilians in the central region.
