Division of Pharmacy

Introduction

The department is affiliated with the medical unit and, in response to business needs, currently consists of three groups: the Pharmacy Dispensing Group, the Clinical Teaching Group, and the Drug Management Group. Each group is led by a group leader and a designated pharmacist. The primary service targets include military personnel, their families, and the general public. Additionally, the department collaborates with military missions to support various community health initiatives.

In addition to providing dispensing services, the department places a strong emphasis on clinical pharmacy services. It also offers continuing education and pharmacy internship opportunities to enhance pharmacists’ professional knowledge and cultivate the next generation of pharmacists, ultimately improving the overall quality of medical services.

  3. Clinical drug therapy monitoring and pharmacokinetics services

Pharmacy Dispensing Group – Outpatient Services

  • Dispensing prescription medications for outpatient and emergency care.
  • A Review of Drug Interactions and Contraindications
  • The issuance of medications, coupled with the provision of appropriate patient education and guidance on their use, is essential for effective healthcare.
  • A medication consultation desk is available to offer medication consultation services and distribute educational materials.
  • Controlled Substance Management

Pharmacy Dispensing Group – Inpatient Division

  • Inpatient Unit Dose Dispensing (UDD)
  • Patient visits and evaluations of medication therapy.
  • Control of Antibiotic Usage
  • Special medication management is covered by health insurance.
  • Operation and maintenance of automated pill-packaging machines.

Clinical Teaching Group

  • Continuing Education and Internship Training
  • Monitoring drug blood concentration levels in both outpatient and inpatient settings is referred to as Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM).
  • Medication Utilization Evaluation (MUE)
  • Monitoring and Reporting of Adverse Drug Reactions
  • Medication consultation services are available through the consultation hotline at 04-2393-4191, extension 525420.

  • Clinical Pharmacy Services in Intensive Care Units
  • I am responsible for verifying prescriptions for total parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy drugs, and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) medications, including their precautions and contraindications.
  • Compilation and publication of prescription collections and materials related to hospitals.
  • A compilation of data pertaining to pharmaceutical operations for hospital evaluations.

Drug Management Group

  • Organizing and maintaining pharmaceutical data files.
  • Procurement, registration, and filing of library and software/hardware equipment, along with the collection and organization of new drug information.
  • Responsible for the procurement and inventory management of all hospital medications, including oral medications, injections, infusions, and topical preparations, to ensure an adequate supply of medications within the facility.
  • Regularly organize data and provide real-time drug information to hospital medical staff through change notifications.
  • Preparation, data compilation, and convening of the Pharmaceutical Committee.
  • Statistical Analysis of Drug Use Across Various Medical Departments
