Division of Medical Imaging / Radiology
Overview
The Radiology Department is responsible for providing general medical imaging, healthcare diagnosis, and treatment for both military and civilian patients during peacetime. Additionally, it undertakes various medical imaging diagnosis and treatment tasks for military personnel within the Fifth Operational Zone during wartime.
The radiology medical team comprises specialized radiologists, radiologic technologists, and nurses. They deliver comprehensive medical imaging diagnoses and interventional radiology treatments. Interventional radiology procedures include:
- Embolization therapy for liver tumors
- Drainage procedures for abscesses in various locations
- Embolization therapy for gastrointestinal bleeding
- Embolization therapy for traumatic intra-abdominal bleeding
- Image-guided fine needle aspiration and tissue biopsy
This approach ensures that patients receive high-quality and thorough medical imaging services.
Unit Introduction
We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of medical imaging and implementing effective radiation exposure management procedures. Furthermore, we prioritize transparency in radiological examination information and are committed to improving patient safety and protection.
Our hospital has been honored with the “Excellence Award for Radiation Safety and Medical Exposure Quality Assurance Operations” from the Atomic Energy Council of the Executive Yuan on seven occasions.
Our hospital has introduced the latest medical technology: the Stereotactic Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy. Previously, when suspicious lesions were detected after a mammogram, patients had to undergo surgery. Now, with this advanced, minimally invasive technology, suspicious lesions—such as abnormal calcifications or tumors—can be aspirated and biopsied using a less invasive method, which also preserves cosmetic appearance.

- Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) for liver tumors
- Mechanical Thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke
We aim to utilize minimally invasive surgical techniques to achieve therapeutic results comparable to open surgery. Our department aspires to become a model medical imaging center for the military in the central region, offering the highest quality medical services and safeguarding the health of both military personnel and civilians.
In doing so, we strive to establish a standard of care equivalent to leading medical centers.
