The Dental Department is committed to nurturing talent across various specialties.
It serves as a training institution for the “Two-Year General Medical Training Program for Dental Graduates” and the “Specialist Training Institution of the Republic of China Academy of Family Dentistry.”
Services
Services Offered:
- General dentistry encompasses a wide range of services, including the management of toothaches, treatment for gum bleeding, evaluation of halitosis (bad breath), comprehensive oral examinations, tooth extractions, fillings, oral tumor screenings, and relief for oral discomfort. It also addresses conditions such as periodontitis, apical periodontitis, pulpitis, cavities, and oral ulcers. Additionally, teeth whitening services are available for discolored teeth, and denture restoration services are offered.
- Oral and maxillofacial surgery encompasses a wide range of conditions and procedures, including oral ulcers, oral tumors, malocclusion, temporomandibular joint fractures, temporomandibular joint disorders, restricted mouth opening, tooth extractions, and cellulitis.
- Periodontology, integrated periodontal care, periodontal surgery, and periodontal tissue regeneration.
- Orthodontics involves correcting dental alignment and addressing malocclusion.
- Dental Implants: Partial and Full-Mouth Reconstruction
- Pediatric dentistry involves the use of pit and fissure sealants for primary teeth, the restoration of cavities in these teeth, the provision of space maintainers, and the initiation of early orthodontic treatment.
- The Taichung City Health Bureau’s subsidy program for dentures for seniors aged 65 and older has received widespread acclaim.
Department Introductions:
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: The hospital currently employs one oral surgeon. The primary services offered include surgical tooth extractions, wisdom tooth removal, oral tumor surgery, dental implants, facial trauma management, and treatment for temporomandibular joint disorders, all of which are encompassed within the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- Periodontology: The hospital currently employs one periodontist. Treatment options include both traditional non-surgical and surgical interventions for periodontal disease, periodontal regeneration, periodontal tissue aesthetics, gum grafting, and dental cleanings, all of which are managed by the periodontology specialty.
- Family Dentistry (General Dentistry): The hospital currently employs two specialists in family dentistry. This branch of dentistry offers a wide range of comprehensive dental care services, including general dental treatments, full mouth reconstruction, tooth extractions, fillings, dental cleanings, dental implants, denture fabrication, and community dental care, all of which are essential components of family dentistry. Additionally, the family dentistry department includes an oral pathology specialist who diagnoses and treats oral mucosal diseases, ensuring high-quality, comprehensive care services.
- Orthodontics: The hospital currently employs an orthodontist who offers specialized services for adolescents with malocclusion.
- Pediatric Dentistry: The hospital currently employs a fully trained pediatric dentist who offers comprehensive full-mouth reconstruction for children, as well as high-quality services for those who may present more complex behavioral management challenges.
- Oral Restoration: The hospital currently employs a fully trained dentist who specializes in denture fabrication and reconstruction for elderly patients, thereby improving their chewing function and overall quality of life.
Future Development:
The Dental Department has relocated to a new facility behind the medical building, which features state-of-the-art equipment and an environment designed to prioritize patient privacy. The facility complies with medical center standards and is equipped to deliver high-quality dental services. The doctors and support staff in the Dental Department are fully dedicated to serving patients, emphasizing patient-centered care and ensuring the highest quality of treatment. They also accept referrals from clinics. In the future, the department plans to actively recruit specialists in the dental field, train exceptional military doctors, seek diverse resources, and continuously upgrade both software and hardware to provide the highest standards of oral care for military and civilian populations in the central region.
