Division of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, the pandemic has led to the loss of thousands of precious lives in Taiwan. The National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine, under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, has published Qingguan No. 1, which is grounded in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and warm disease theory. This publication offers a timely foundational treatment plan for epidemic diseases, enabling the public to understand the effective role that TCM can play in combating large-scale infections.

The medical features of our Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) department emphasize the prompt intervention of TCM for emergency patients and its integration as an adjunct therapy for those hospitalized under Western medicine. This includes patients with cerebrovascular diseases, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and respiratory difficulties. Additionally, we enhance outpatient treatment plans for chronic kidney disease. With the specialization of TCM, our treatment scope will increasingly encompass a wide range of urgent, critical, and complex patient cases, ensuring that TCM is recognized as safe, reliable, and technologically advanced.
