Central Taiwan Toxicology and Lab Medicine Center

With the rapid development of Taiwan’s economy and the advancement of social networks, the country has transitioned into a free, open, and diverse society. Additionally, globalization, the rise of online social culture, and the convenience of online shopping have diversified and facilitated the channels for purchasing illegal drugs. Consequently, the issue of drug abuse in Taiwan has become increasingly severe. In response to this challenge, the Executive Yuan proposed the “New Generation Anti-Drug Strategy” on May 11, 2017.

  • Establishment and Formation: Our hospital, under the guidance of the Ministry of National Defense, began planning for a toxicology center in March 2018. In July 2020, the Central Region Clinical Toxicology Center was officially established within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
  • On December 15, 2020, the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Executive Yuan certified a laboratory for urine testing related to drug abuse.
  • In 2023, it was awarded the SNQ National Quality Mark.
