Team Cohesion Becomes Each Other’s Most Reliable Support – TRM Workshop Joins Hands to Safeguard Patient Safety One Training, One Understanding, A Stronger Patient Safety Net Patient safety and medical quality have always been the core values upheld by our hospital. To deepen the spirit of teamwork and the culture of patient safety, our hospital recently held a “Team Resource Management (TRM) Workshop.” Through simulated scenarios and interactive courses, partners from different departments gathered together to build mutual understanding through communication and to foster trust through collaboration. This course specially invited Dr. Wu Yonglong, Chief Attending Physician of the Emergency Medicine Department at Cathay General Hospital, to teach at our hospital. Our hospital director, Dr. Shi Yulong, personally welcomed him. With his rich clinical experience, Dr. Wu combined vivid case studies with clear and accessible explanations to guide colleagues in understanding the four core principles of TRM: leadership, situation monitoring, mutual support, and effective communication. The most impressive part of the course was the simulated scenario exercises. Facing rapidly changing clinical challenges, colleagues from different professional fields quickly assumed their roles, covering for one another, reminding each other, and making joint decisions. Repeated discussions and drills not only improved skills but also deeply made everyone realize that the true power to protect patients comes from the trust and cooperation within the team.
