Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital

On the afternoon of January 30, Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital held a Grand Opening and Inauguration Reception for its Emergency and Critical Care Building, presided over by Superintendent Major General Shih, Yu-Lung. Distinguished guests in attendance included Deputy Director Chiu of the Taichung City Health Bureau, city councilors, representatives from legislators’ offices, former superintendents, local district and village leaders. Approximately 200 guests from central and local government agencies and various sectors gathered to witness this significant milestone.

Alliance hospitals, long-time community supporters, civic organizations, and partner enterprises also joined the celebration, sharing in the joy and significance of the official launch of the new facility.

The event commenced with an energetic dance performance by the “Tri-Service Soldier Dolls” from the Armed Forces Recruitment Center, setting a lively tone for the ceremony. This was followed by a feature video introducing the new building. Awards were presented to key donors supporting the facility’s equipment, including Chang Yong Group, Jia De Wei Industrial Co., Ltd., Pan Asia Engineering Co., Ltd., and Rui Fu Construction, as well as Jian Guo Plastics Industrial Co., Ltd., recognized for its longstanding and substantial contributions to the hospital’s development, activities and medical equipment.

The Emergency and Critical Care Building is one of the Ministry of National Defense’s flagship projects under the “Soaring Medical Project.” It incorporates modular operating rooms, real-time imaging systems, smart ward design to comprehensively enhance emergency response efficiency, critical care capacity and patient safety. Integrating green building and smart building concepts, the facility creates a safer, more patient-centered and environmentally sustainable healthcare environment.

Superintendent Shih remarked, “For over 40 years, Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital has grown alongside the central Taiwan community. We are deeply grateful for the trust of local residents and the steadfast support of our partner enterprises, which have enabled us to continue advancing with stability and strength. With the Emergency and Critical Care Building as our cornerstone, we will further enhance our medical capacity to safeguard the health and safety of both military personnel and civilians, and move together toward a more secure future.”
