Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital

On August 14, Colonel Tsai, Shih-Hung, Deputy Superintendent, led a team of 19 colleagues from our hospital to the Ministry of Health and Welfare Fengyuan Hospital for an exchange visit. The discussion focused on inpatient surgical patient care processes and the enhancement of service quality.

The delegation was warmly received by Deputy Superintendent Chang, Cheng-Yi of Fengyuan Hospital. Both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges from the perspectives of the medical, nursing, and administrative teams, covering topics such as process design, resource allocation, and cross-team collaboration.

The central theme of this exchange meeting was “Optimization of Inpatient Care Processes.” Discussions included integrating information systems, refining standard operating procedures, and adjusting manpower allocation, with the goals of improving bed utilization, reducing patient waiting times, and enhancing overall satisfaction. Both hospitals also shared experiences on surgical process management and high-risk inpatient reporting systems.

A highlight of the event was the special attendance of Dr. Tseng, Tzu-Chan, Director of Taichung City Health Bureau, who was visiting Fengyuan Hospital at the time. Accompanied by Superintendent Dr. Lee,Yung-Heng, Director Tseng delivered remarks during the meeting, commending the collaboration between the two hospitals. Director Tseng stated:
“Both ministry hospitals and the military healthcare system play vital roles in policy implementation. Cross-institutional cooperation and observation such as this help improve the overall quality and efficiency of public healthcare services. We hope to see more of such exchanges in the future, providing Taichung citizens with a better healthcare environment.”

This exchange not only fostered complementary collaboration between military and civilian medical resources but also enabled our staff to learn from practical experiences and identify areas for process improvement, laying a solid foundation for enhancing patient care quality in the future.

We firmly believe that continuous learning and collaboration are the keys to advancing high-quality healthcare services. Our hospital will remain committed to improvement, striving to provide the public with a safer, more convenient, and patient-centered healthcare environment.
