Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital

Recently, our hospital cooperated with the Fifth Operational Command to conduct a military, public, and civilian medical integration drill. We joined hands with military units, local governments, fire departments, private medical institutions, and blood donation centers to jointly verify the capacity for mass casualty treatment, medical resource integration, and cross-agency coordination and response capabilities.

In addition to completing key drills such as setting up treatment sites in the emergency and critical care building’s basement and implementing a “donate and use immediately” blood supply system within the hospital, we also dispatched a Forward Surgical Medical Team (FRSD) to the drill site to perform emergency medical treatment for severely injured patients. This was closely coordinated with evacuation control stations, blood product transportation, and combat medical material supply mechanisms, demonstrating seamless integration between frontline treatment and rear medical support.

The value of military hospitals lies not only in providing routine medical care but also in extending medical capabilities from frontline treatment to rear admission during emergencies, linking triage, surgery, blood supply, evacuation, and sheltering in a comprehensive medical response system.

Through repeated and solid drills, we continuously improve cross-agency coordination and medical integration capabilities, ensuring that when the time truly comes, we can protect the lives and safety of every citizen and service member with the fastest response and the most thorough preparation.
