The Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital Links with Civilian Counseling Resources to Launch a “Medical Green Channel,” Fully Protecting the Mental Health of Military Personnel.

To enhance the service effectiveness of the “Armed Forces Mental Health Care Program” and deepen resource integration, the Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital has partnered with 13 nearby civilian counseling organizations to pilot the “Medical Green Channel.” This initiative establishes a timely, smooth referral mechanism between psychological counseling and medical services that respects privacy and reduces stigma.

For cases with medical needs and informed consent, frontline professionals from partner organizations assist with referrals. The hospital’s dedicated contact window is responsible for communication and appointment scheduling, facilitating subsequent psychiatric evaluation and treatment, thereby reducing the inconvenience and waiting time for individuals seeking medical resources on their own.

The hospital hopes that by establishing the “Medical Green Channel,” it can connect civilian psychological counseling resources with medical expertise to build a service network of “early detection, immediate referral, professional treatment, and continuous care,” strengthening the accessibility and continuity of mental health care and jointly safeguarding the mental health of military personnel.
