Lecture on Medical Humanities in the Era of Generation Z and Al.

Our hospital was honored to invite Dr. Ming-Che Tsai, Superintendent of Chung Shan Medical University Hospital, to deliver a keynote speech titled “Medical Humanities in the Era of Generation Z and Artificial Intelligence.”
He guided the audience to reflect on how physicians can find balance between tradition and innovation as AI becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare.
Dr. Tsai pointed out that Generation Z values work-life balance and seeks respect and a sense of participation. They are not a difficult generation to manage, but rather one that needs to be invited to co-create.
He expressed hope that cross-generational collaboration will inspire new ideas and drive innovation in medicine.
Dr. Tsai also emphasized that in the age of AI, physicians’ roles should extend beyond clinical care to include research, education, management, and ethical reflection.
He reminded everyone, “AI can assist in medicine, but it can never replace human judgment and compassion.”
The lecture inspired all participants to recognize that the essence of medicine lies not only in technological progress, but also in the enduring spirit of humanity.
