Director General of the Medical Affairs Bureau Inspects New Medical Building Project at T.A.F.G.H.
Date:2025-07-03On July 1, 2025, Lieutenant General Tsai, Director General of the Medical Affairs Bureau, visited Taichung Armed Forces General Hospital to inspect the progress of the turnkey project for the hospital’s new medical building. The visit was conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of the construction status and ensure alignment with the project’s objectives.
He was received by Hospital Superintendent Major General Shih, Deputy Superintendent Colonel Tsai, Associate Dean of Education Mr. Lee, senior hospital officials and members of the Siang Medical Project Team. The inspection included a detailed project briefing and on-site visits to key areas under construction, including the emergency center, inpatient wards, nursing stations, operating rooms, intensive care units and skybridge.
During the inspection, Director General Tsai provided the following guidance:
Commendation of Progress and Quality Management
He commended the hospital and the turnkey team for their effective management of construction progress and quality control. He emphasized that final acceptance and handover procedures must also be completed on schedule with rigorous oversight.
Functional and Practical Design
He highlighted that the spatial layout and workflow planning demonstrate a strong alignment with real-world clinical needs and may serve as a valuable reference model for future hospital construction projects.
Preparation for Activation
He noted that the new facility is scheduled to be fully operational by January 115, and urged the hospital to begin preparations for the opening ceremony in advance.
