1. Policy

Our hospital focuses on net-zero transformation, resource efficiency, climate resilience, and green healthcare to promote environmental sustainability management while ensuring patient safety, medical quality, and operational resilience. We aim to gradually develop a low-carbon, smart, and adaptive sustainable hospital.

  1. Effectively utilize energy and resources to minimize environmental impact.
  2. Establish a climate-resilient healthcare system to minimize the impact of extreme weather events on medical services.
  3. Implement circular economy practices to reduce medical waste.
  4. Promote green procurement and sustainable supply chain management practices.
  5. Integrate smart healthcare systems with digital management to improve energy efficiency.

4. Management Evaluation Mechanism

  1. Regularly conduct carbon inventories in accordance with ISO 14064-1 and have them verified by third-party organizations.
  2. Continuously promote the ISO 50001 management system.
  3. Review related KPIs quarterly within the Environmental Sustainability Group of the Sustainable Development Committee.

5. Performance

  1. Achieved ISO 14064-1 certification.
  2. Obtained Gold-level Green Building Candidate Certification.
  3. Obtained Silver-level Smart Building Candidate certification.
  4. Successfully reduced energy consumption by implementing the ISO 50001 energy management system.
  5. Achieve the Ministry of Environment’s Indoor Air Quality “Excellent” label by 2025.
  6. Successfully recycled 895 kilograms of medical waste plastic in 2025, significantly reducing the amount of harmful waste sent to incinerators. Additionally, repurchased 120 low-carbon, 13-liter sharps containers made from the recycled plastic for clinical use.
  7. In 2025, non-hazardous industrial waste decreased by 9.731 metric tons (5.98%) compared to 2024; hazardous industrial waste decreased by 9.258 metric tons (12%) compared to 2024; and resource recycling increased by 7.5301 metric tons (50.34%).

Long-Term Development Goal: Establishing a “Low-Carbon Medical Institution”

Our hospital fully acknowledges the vital role of medical institutions as “global citizens” within society and the environment. Beyond our core mission of safeguarding public health, we actively embrace environmental sustainability and climate responsibilities, striving to integrate the principles of sustainable development into our operational governance and daily workflows. Strategically, we have established the creation of a “low-carbon medical institution” as a long-term development goal. Through systematic management mechanisms and continuous improvement cycles, we progressively promote the decoupling of medical services from environmental burdens, thereby reducing the ecological impact of our operational activities.

In terms of energy management

Our hospital continuously improves energy efficiency by upgrading equipment, implementing intelligent monitoring systems, and managing energy consumption behaviors. We enhance visualization and real-time monitoring of energy use to reduce overall energy consumption and carbon emission intensity. Simultaneously, we systematically evaluate and adopt energy-saving equipment and low-carbon technologies to increase the energy efficiency of buildings and medical devices, thereby strengthening the overall climate resilience of our operations.

In terms of water resource management

Our hospital enhances water usage monitoring and management systems, promotes water-saving initiatives and plans to improve water use efficiency, and ensures the rational and sustainable use of water resources through regular inventories and anomaly detection mechanisms. These efforts help reduce the impact of medical operations on regional water resources.

In terms of waste and resource recycling management

Our hospital adheres to the principles of classification, reduction, recycling, and reuse, strengthening segregation management systems for both medical and general waste. We continuously improve resource recycling rates and enhance waste reduction effectiveness. Additionally, by optimizing workflows and implementing digital technologies, we reduce the use of disposable consumables, promote maximum resource use efficiency, and advance the concept of a circular economy within the medical field.

In terms of supply chain management

Our hospital also integrates sustainable procurement into its management framework by gradually adopting green procurement principles. We prioritize products and services that carry environmental labels or sustainability certifications and encourage suppliers to collaboratively enhance their environmental management performance. This approach strengthens the overall sustainability of the entire value chain.

Overall, through multifaceted strategies—including energy management, water resource governance, waste reduction, and supply chain sustainability—our hospital systematically promotes green transformation. We not only continuously reduce the environmental impact of our operations but also gradually develop a sustainable operational model that integrates medical quality with environmental responsibility, steadily advancing toward a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and environmentally friendly healthcare institution.
